BENEVIOLENCE (a poem)

Image by Dimitris Vetsikas from Pixabay

Midnight philosopher
in a leaning tower
of Babble.

Weeping halo crown
of a hero-king
long-forgotten.

A golden shaft of sunset.
A judge perched
on a stack of unread books.

The text is written in stone
and must be answered in blood.

While a garbage truck
delivers the daily mail
and the mailman
robs your garden.
