CHRYSANTHEMUM (a poem)

Poison darts
Frogs and webs
Trap the flies
and swallow them.

Fattened up
on trash and bile

Stomachs full
the creatures smile.

What comes next
a dirty bird.

The screams
of prey
are never heard.

Death by venom
bite of snake

To reach our end
our only fate.
